Build a Warhammer

About this class

The August 15 to 16th class is currently full. This class will return in the 2027 schedule, which will be published on our class schedule page in June of this year.

Two 6-hour sessions
9am to 4pm Saturday and Sunday

This is a weekend class for beginning blacksmiths. No experience is necessary. Students will build from scratch a complete warhammer in two sessions Saturday and Sunday. Shop orientation and safety, proper fire management and hammering techniques will be covered and the hammer head will be forged on the first day. The handle, ring, twist and assembly on the second day. Students will use a power hammer and a MIG welder in this class. The goal is for each student to leave with a completed warhammer.

Class includes safe shop practices, fire management, efficient hammer techniques and basic forging. All safety equipment and materials provided.
